RIGHT HAND MAN

From a career around people in education,

to steering a sailboat around the globe:

the road to conducting large social gatherings

STEVE LITSON

Pen Portrait

Steve is a retired headteacher. He worked in education for over 30 years and has held a variety of posts: classroom teacher, field studies specialist, senior lecturer in ecology, local authority advisory teacher, deputy and head teacher. Prior to that, Steve worked for National Westminster Bank for six years.

Four years ago he took early retirement to fulfil his dream of sailing around the world. Steve is a keen sailor and is often found enjoying the coastal waters of The Solent. His hobby has overlapped into his work life and, since returning from his successful two-year circumnavigation of the globe, Steve has used his skills learned as Yacht Captain to help with his Toastmaster’s duties.

Steve is a family man. Between Steve and his partner Lynne, they have six boys. He loves the atmosphere of social gatherings, family reunions and celebrations. His convivial and sociable personality is the driving force behind his success as a Master of Ceremonies — he loves making someone's day and engaging with people.
